100 dton Luxury Shuttle

The Luxury Shuttle carried aboard the Dancing Dolphin is built on a Bilstein 100 dton shuttle frame by Glisten Hightravel Luxury Spacecraft. GHL specializes in luxury spacecraft using the finest of craftsmanship and highest grade domestic and imported materials. With over 450 years of experience in providing vessels to the Imperial Nobility and local persons of means across the sector GHL has a sterling reputation for delivering quality.
The two deck shuttle provides both a comfortable travelling space for the owner and a functional area for required staff. Though primarily intended for short duration orbit to downport travel the shuttle is perfectly capable of supporting extended travel for a week or more. It can also provide long term housing for its owner occupant when down world where other suitable quarters are not available.
The shuttle is designed for both water and ground landings.

  1. Galley. Accessible via iris valve from lower deck.
  2. Luxury quarters containing private fresher, stateroom and lounge. Accessible via lift and iris valve from lower deck.
The quarters section of the vessel have an extraordinary view due to being domed by a transparent smart ceramic. Sections of the material can be made opaque to provide privacy when on world.

  1. Bridge.
  2. Circulation Space and small cargo. A overhead iris valve leads to the galley.
  3. Airlock.
  4. Fresher.
  5. Passenger Space. The shuttle can carry 12 passengers (although one seat is usually reserved for the steward.) Each seat converts to a lie-flat bed for overnight trips. A lift at the forward end of the compartment connects to the luxury quarters on the upper deck. An iris valve at the aft end of the compartment also leads to luxury quarters and is intended for emergency use only.
  6. The hanger. Typically contains a grav limo and two gravbikes used by huscarles security escorts. An overhead crane facilitates cargo and vehicle handling. A starboard side hatch gives egress to the vehicles.

Windows on both port and starboard sides of the passenger compartment allow a panoramic view, even for the regular passengers.
The above view shows the passenger compartment looking forward. The iris valve leading to the circulation space can been seen to the left. The lift to the upper level is in the middle. On the bulkhead to the right can be seen the Adaptapanel used to control the compartment environment.
Looking aft from the front of the compartment the ladder and emergency iris valve to the upper level can be seen. The bulkhead iris valve leads to the hanger.
The circulation space pictured above contains a locker for emergency equipment. Not seen in the picture are the emergency station containing a first aid kit, rescue balls, a fire extinguisher and com panel. The ladder accesses the galley on the level above. Robot server grav trays are used to lower prepared meals through the iris valve. The iris valve on the left gives access to the bridge. The iris valve to vessel's airlock is on the right. Next to the airlock is the fresher.
The bridge has stations for the pilot, navigator and the boat engineer. Port and starboard windows  are forward. A view screen is on the forward bulkhead.
The luxury quarters have a seating area with viewscreen.
The lift from the deck below leads to the large lounge area. One side of the lounge has an entertainment area with couch and viewscreen. A smart table can be used as a desk or for eating. The lift leads to the main deck below.

On the port side is a hall with doors to the fresher forward and the stateroom aft.
The stateroom is small but comfortable.

The fresher contains all required amenities.
The hanger has room for a comfortable grav limo and auxiliary security craft.
The hanger can be access directly from the passenger compartment.

Dancing Dolphin Highlights IV

The Dancing Dolphin carries a variety of craft in its large hanger and two vehicle bays.
The deck has an observation gallery that allows guests and staff to await the arrival of the owner and guests. An iris valve leads directly out to the hanger once a normal environment has been restored.
A 40 dton pinnace is used to carry cargo. It is a speedy little craft with a top acceleration of 5Gs.  it can carry up to 5 dtons of cargo. Though typically configured for cargo fold away seating allows for the vessel to be used as a short range passenger transport at need.
The 100 dton luxury transport shuttle is a two deck design built on the Bilstein mixed cargo/passenger 100 dton shuttle design. It is capable of a top acceleration of 3Gs.
The Dancing Dolphin Carries two 10 dton launches used to transfer passengers or cargo. Typically the launch in the ventral boat bay is configured for mixed passenger and cargo use. While it is sometimes also used for transporting liberty parties it most often is used to pick up small packages or luxury items for the owner and guests.
The dorsal boat bay is launch is configured for passengers and can transfer the entire ship's complement in an emergency, though it typically is used to ferry liberty parties planetside.

Dolphin Highlights III

The "Wine Cellar" is actually located on Deck A. Along the starboard side looking aft are racks for hundreds of bottles of wine. A separate grav plate system with its own backup power ensures that the bottles are not subjected to zero G (a real killer of wine quality, since it tends to disturb the proper sedimentation separation of the bottle.) On the port side looking aft are individual temperature controlled storage units to maintain special vintages at their optimum storage temperature.
A window on the aft wall looks out on the stellar vistas beyond. A table and chairs can be set up to allow a private intimate dinner or wine tasting, allowing the owner and their guest to also enjoy the spectacle of space. As always during the period in jump space a holographic enabled shutter allows artificial vistas to be enjoyed.

Dancing Dolphin Highlights II

Off the upper level of the Garden is the owner's stateroom. This space, bigger than a good half dozen regular staterooms, contains a working desk, two sitting areas and a balcony looking out over the garden.
Separate closet/fresher areas for the owner and consort are each the size of a normal stateroom.

All of the amenities of a luxury fresher are present as well as plenty of storage space for a full wardrobe.

An aft door leads to private offices for the owner and consort.
The owner's stateroom has a commanding view of the Garden below, and the large windows displaying space beyond.

Dancing Dolphin Highlights

One of the most unique features of the Dancing Dolphin is its hydroponic garden, which provides not just food and supplemental oxygen, but also the space uncommon on a ship for passengers to lounge under a fruit tree or listen to fountains. Outside the large viewing windows can be seen a highport.
A large bulkhead mounted aquarium allows the antics of future meals to be observed in an environment more enjoyable than the typical breeding pond. Other ponds in the space provide separation of species and allow fish to be observed in ponds outfitted with fountains. Benches allow reading or resting.
Grow beds allow a variety of food plants and useful herbs, including carrots, potatoes and greany to be grown for use at the passenger table.
